Agbonlahor: Jack Grealish told to ‘forget’ Man City amid ‘devastating’ reveal
Jack Grealish must “forget” about Man City and focus on England during the World Cup, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Grealish’s former Aston Villa teammate insisted he has been performing well for his club ahead of the tournament.
The 26-year-old scored his first World Cup goal in England’s 6-2 win over Iran last week (21 November) but he is yet to start a game in the tournament.
Sources told Football Insider earlier this month (18 November) that the attacker is struggling to come to terms with his second-string status at the Etihad.
It is understood that he was “gutted” and “devastated” not to play in Man City’s biggest game of the season – a 1-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield last month (16 October) – as well as other key fixtures.
“For me, Jack has got to forget about club football and concentrate on England,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“For me, he’s done well at Man City and that’s why he’s in the squad for England for the World Cup.
“He’s got to continue how he’s playing. He came on against Iran and he was quick on the ball, he wanted the ball in positions and got in the box to get his goal.
“He’s just got to concentrate on the World Cup and when he goes back to Man City he can concentrate on Man City and try and score goals for Man City and get assists like he is for England.”

Grealish has only scored once in 16 appearances across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.
He has 11 goal contributions in 55 games for City since his £100million move from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021.
