Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Harry Kane may submit a formal Tottenham transfer request after an "embarrassing" managerial development.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Spurs' failed pursuit of a new manager could also lead to Heung-min Son demanding a move away.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week (18 June) talks with candidates Paulo Fonseca and Genera Gattuso are both "100 per cent off".

Spurs are now seemingly back to square one in their manager hunt.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in April Kane had made it clear to friends he wants to quit the club this summer.

"The manager situation is not good for the players that are there," Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"If I was a Spurs player I'd be embarrassed. They've tried about eight managers and they've all turned them down.

"If I was Son, I'd want to leave. If I was Kane, I'd be handing in a transfer request. 'I'm out of here.'

"You're looking at any other club, Man City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool. All these managers would've jumped at the chance to manage them.

"It seems the managers are umming and ahhing about going to Spurs. Is it a problem with the owner? Is the owner not offering the package to strengthen the squad? That's what I think it is.

"These managers are probably saying 'Yes, I'll come but I need at least £150million to help the squad.' Maybe that's putting them off.

"It's definitely embarrassing for Spurs, they're just making it harder for themselves now because the manager they do get will no they're like 12th choice now."
