Agbonlahor lambasts Anthony Gordon after ‘crazy’ Everton reveal
Anthony Gordon does not deserve a £100,000-a-week contract at Everton, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Gordon has been “average” and does not deserve “crazy” wages.
The 21-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer of 2025 and attracted the interest of Tottenham, Newcastle United and Chelsea in the summer.

Everton are keen to keep hold of their academy product and tie him down to a new deal.
The Sun reported last week (15 October) that negotiations have stalled as Gordon’s camp want a deal worth £100,000-a-week.
The Blues valued him at £60million in the summer and the player’s camp want his wages to reflect that.
Asked whether Gordon has done enough to warrant those wages, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I don’t feel he has.
“This is the problem with football at the moment. These crazy contracts are being thrown out to players that haven’t done enough.
“How many goals does he have in the Premier League? How many assists has he got?
“Because he’s had some good games where he shows energy and commitment, is that enough for £100,000-a-week? I don’t think it is.
“Football is a bit crazy now. Footballers are being average and getting these crazy contracts.
“Everton will look at and think that because they want to keep him and other teams are after him, they’ve got no choice.”

Gordon has six goals and three assists in 58 Premier League games for Everton.
The England Under-21 international has found the net twice in nine appearances this term.
In other news, Everton are lining up a £150million Bramley-Moore naming rights deal.
