Agbonlahor lambasts Cristiano Ronaldo after ‘unforgivable’ Man United update
Cristiano Ronaldo is “ruining his legacy” at Man United by asking to leave the club this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed Ronaldo’s actions are “unforgivable”.
The Sunday Times reported at the weekend (2 July) that the 37-year-old has requested to leave Old Trafford with a year left on his contract.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday (5 July) that he has yet to return for pre-season training for family reasons and it is unclear as to whether he will fly to their tour of Australia and Thailand on Friday (8 July).
“Sometimes we can’t comment because we don’t know the personal reasons but it seems a bit of coincidence that it comes out that he wants to leave and then he’s not there for the first day of pre-season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“The whole scenario for me, I feel Ronaldo is going to ruin his legacy at Man United. He’s one of their best-ever players, he’s done amazing for them with big goals.
“But when they really need you, you’re jumping ship? They struggled last season, they are in the Europa League and because he wants Champions League football, he’s going to jump ship.
“Where is the love for Man United? Where’s the loyalty from someone that has played so many games for Man United.
“It just shows that some footballers pretend that they love a club and they don’t. Ronaldo went to Man United because they gave him a £500,000-a-week, not because he loves Man United. It was probably the best offer he had on the table, that’s the only reason he went back.
“It just shows when the club need him and are in a different stage where they need to rebuild and are in the Europa League, struggling to get near the top two, he wants to jump ship.

“It’s unforgivable for me. If I was a fan I’d definitely be angry with him and think he’s ruining his legacy.
“He’s had all the Champions League with Real Madrid and Man United and won league titles. If you really loved the club you would stay with them and get them back into the Champions League this season.”
