Agbonlahor lambasts Fabinho as Liverpool fall-out revealed – ‘you can’t have that’
Fabinho has been playing in “first gear” for Liverpool for some time, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Fabinho does not have the legs to perform in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has featured in all 12 of Liverpool’s Premier League games this term and started the 2-1 loss to Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday (29 October).
The Liverpool Echo reported after the game that Jurgen Klopp berated the midfielder in the 38th minute of the game.
Fabinho shook his head at the manager which led to a further outburst from the German.
“I remember watching a game last season, Man City at home against Liverpool and he looked like a snail running in the middle,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Whenever Man City got into little pockets, it was too easy to run past him. He lacks any speed at all, he makes clumsy challenges and it’s like he’s running in first gear at all times.
“In the Premier League, you can’t have that. You’ve got to try and get about the pitch.
“He’s getting found out this season and maybe he’s not as good as we thought he was.
“Yes, it can be age and that the legs are going.

“But ever since he came to Liverpool, I’ve not been a big fan. Yes, he’s tidy on the ball and his passing is tidy but he can’t move, he can’t get about.
“You need legs and he’s showing that he hasn’t got them.”
