Agbonlahor lambasts five ‘kamikaze’ Leeds United stars set for ‘punishment’
Leeds United have been guilty of “kamikaze” defending this season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Leeds were playing “youth team football” in their 5-2 defeat to Brentford last weekend (3 September).
They lined up with a back four of Codey Drameh, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk in front of Illan Meslier in west London.
Llorente and Koch have lined up at the heart of defence for all six Premier League games this season while Drameh was making his first appearance of the season.
The Whites have now shipped 10 goals in this term and only three teams have conceded more, including Bournemouth who lost 9-0 to Liverpool.
“Brendan Aaronson and [Luis] Sinisterra have looked like good players,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They’ve started the season off quite well but it was like watching old Leeds defend against Brentford.
“It was kamikaze defending, it was youth team football defending and you can’t afford to do that when there are some top forwards in the Premier League who will punish you.
“Ivan Toney punished them and other forwards will punish them if they continue to play like that.”

Leeds were set to face struggling Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday (10 September) but the game has been postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Their next scheduled game is a trip to Old Trafford to face arch-rivals Man United later this month (18 September).
