Agbonlahor lambasts Jurgen Klopp as new Liverpool claim issued

Gabby Agbonlahor has slammed Jurgen Klopp for already “making excuses” at Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Klopp “needs to get on with it and stop moaning”.

The German, 54, complained about the “dry pitch” at Fulham to BT Sport following his side’s 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage on Saturday (6 August).

The Reds went behind to the newly-promoted side twice but goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah rescued them a point.

“Listen, you do have games where the pitch is dry but you don’t say that in an interview, you keep it to yourself,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I feel that Liverpool with the amount of money their squad cost should be able to play on a beach and beat Fulham.

“It’s not about it being too wet or too dry, just get on with the game. Imagine what the pitches were like in the nineties, I didn’t see managers complain back then about it being too wet or too dry.

“For me, it’s nonsense from Jurgen Klopp. He’s just got to get on with it.

“He loves an excuse nowadays. There’s always an excuse and he just needs to get on with it and stop moaning.

“Your team took Fulham lightly and you got a draw out of it when you could have lost the game.”

Liverpool

Liverpool are next in action on Monday night (15 August) when Crystal Palace visit Anfield.

They then travel to Old Trafford the following Monday (22 August) to face rivals Man United.
