Agbonlahor: Leeds United players won’t care about next manager update

Leeds United will not be impacted by the fact that they haven’t appointed a manager so close to pre-season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that the Whites shouldn’t panic by the fact they have yet to replace Sam Allardyve.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Sunday (25 June) that Patrick Vieira, Daniel Farke and Scott Parker are all three potential bosses in the frame to become the next Leeds United t manager

Football Insider had also revealed on Saturday (24 June) that the Whites want to make an appointment in the next week as pre-season approaches.

The Yorkshire giants are still without a permanent successor for Allardyce after his departure at the end of last season, despite having just days remaining before the players return for pre-season training.

With doubts over the timing of the appointment, Agbonlahor believes there is an overreaction.

“The mindset does not change as players without a manager as they hate pre-season anyway,” He told Football Insider.

“ I think ideally you would like a manager around on the first so he can set about his team.”

“But, if it’s a week after when the manager is appointed then there is still a good amount of time to prepare the squad.

“The first week is a lot of running and tests from scientists, so as long as it is not longer than a week, then Leeds don’t need to worry.”
