Agbonlahor: Liverpool ‘take it too far’ and face retribution from Man City fans seeking revenge
Liverpool should be punished for the actions of their fans during the 1-0 win over Man City last weekend (16 October), according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted it is “unacceptable” if Liverpool fans threw coins at Pep Guardiola and attacked the Man City bus ahead of the game.
The Guardian reported on Monday (17 October) that the FA have launched an investigation into the game that may cover both incidents.

It is claimed that Man City were set to complain to the FA about the coin-throwing and team bus attack.
BBC News reported on Thursday (20 October) that the police had launched an investigation of their own into the attack on the bus.
“The throwing of coins is not on,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Pep’s had abuse off loads of fanbases but when you are in a stadium there should not be things thrown at any manager. That’s not acceptable. The bus is not acceptable either.
“Liverpool can take it too far at times and they should be punished for that.
“Is it a case of making sure there are enough police to protect the bus from the fans on the route out of the city to the ground? They shouldn’t have to go through that.
“It just adds to it. Man City fans might now think when they come to the Etihad, they will do the same. That’s what you start to create and it shouldn’t happen, to be honest.”

Liverpool travel to the Etihad at the beginning of April next year.
Their next Premier League game is a trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (22 October).
