Agbonlahor: Liverpool told to make transfer U-turn after ‘big’ Luis Diaz update
Liverpool should bolster their attacking options in January after Luis Diaz was ruled out for the majority of the rest of the season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted the Liverpool squad no longer frightens the rest of the Premier League and it must be strengthened.
BBC Sport reported last week (18 December) that Diaz will be miss three months of action after having surgery on his knee following a setback.

The 25-year-old has not featured since Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on 11 October and Jurgen Klopp described the latest blow as a “big disappointment” and a “proper smash in the face”.
The Athletic reported last week (12 December) that the club will now assess their options but as things stand will rely on Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez in the second half of the campaign.
Diogo Jota is currently out with a calf injury and may only return in February.
Asked whether Liverpool need to dip into the transfer market next month, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think they do.
“Being out for three months is the majority of the season with the number of games that are going to be coming.
“Liverpool need options, they are not a team that people are scared of.

“Aston Villa play them in a week and it’s a game Unai Emery will be looking at winning. It’s not a Liverpool squad that you look at and are frightened of anymore.
“They need options, they need more attacking players. January should be when they sign some.
