Agbonlahor makes £100m Chelsea signing claim as Moises Caicedo talks advance

Chelsea could sign Moises Caicedo for less than £100million following interest in the Brighton & Hove Albion player.

Speaking exclusively to Football insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabrel Agbonlahor has claimed that despite the quality Caicedo possess he is not worth £100million should Brightn demand that fee.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Thursday (29 June) that Chelsea have opened official Moises Caicedo talks with Brighton.

The Blues are pushing hard to sign the midfielder, 21, and hope to agree a deal around the £80million mark, and It would be structured through a guaranteed £70m supplemented by £10m of add-ons.

Chelsea are increasingly confident of securing an agreement with Brighton and completing the signing of Caicedo, as The Ecuador international is keen to make the move to Stamford Bridge and has already agreed personal terms with the club.

With a potential move to London on the cards, Agbonlahor believes that Brighton could struggle to receive £100million for their star midfiedler.

“I think it’s a deal definitely over 70 million, but I don’t think Brighton will be getting 100 million.” He told Football Insider.

“He fits straight into that Chelsea side, they need that fight in the midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez.

“They have moved on N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus Cheek, but with Fernandez and Caicedo in the midfield, things start to look a lot better for Chelsea.

“Caicedo is a world class player and after also selling Kovacic this is a major boost for Chelsea.”
