Agbonlahor makes Wolves relegation battle prediction after what he’s seen
Wolves could be sucked into a relegation battle this season after their poor start to the season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward backed Wolves to survive this season but warned it could be a tricky campaign.
The Molineux outfit have lost their opening two games of the Premier League season and are yet to find the net.
It is not for a want of trying as Bruno Lage’s men have had a combined 42 shots in their losses to Leicester City and Spurs.
Wolves scored their first goals of Lage’s rein against Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.
They ran out 4-0 winners in the City Ground this week to set up a third-round tie against Tottenham at Molineux.
In the league, they host away specialists Manchester United before the international break next month.
Man United need to avoid defeat to set a Premier League record of 27 games unbeaten on the road.
Asked for his assessment of Wolves’ hopes this term, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Wolves could be a team that gets sucked into a relegation battle, it’s not looking good so far.
“They should be ok though. Watching them, they’re definitely not the third-worst team in the league, they’ll be ok.
“They do need to start scoring goals otherwise it’s going to be a long season for them. They are still conceding goals.”

Wolves finished last season in 13th-place in Nuno Espirito Santo’s final season as head coach.
He led the club to consecutive seventh-place finishes in the two seasons prior to that.
In other news, Wolves have been tipped to sell an “outstanding” player to a Premier League rival for “£40million”.
