Agbonlahor on Ange Postecoglou quitting Celtic after ‘dream’ reveal

Ange Postecoglou will not want to quit Celtic to take over at Leicester City, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Postecoglou has “unfinished business” at Celtic.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this week (19 September) that Leicester are sounding out potential replacements for Brendan Rodgers – who is on the brink of losing his job.

The Scotsman reported the same day that Postecoglou could be lined up by the Foxes to replace Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

As quoted by Sky Sports on Thursday (22 September), the 57-year-old insisted he is “living the dream” at Parkhead and Premier League interest was not on his mind.

Asked whether Celtic fans should be worried about the Australian’s future, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I don’t think so, no.

“He’s at Celtic, doing well there and I don’t think he would want to leave. I don’t see that happening.

“He’s got unfinished business there, he’ll want to win the league again, he will want to try and get into the next stage of the Champions League or have a run in the Europa League.

“I don’t see him leaving yet. He’s got unfinished business at Celtic.

“I can’t see that happening, to be honest.”

Celtic

Postecoglou took over at Celtic last summer (2021) and won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup in his first season in charge.

They are currently two points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and third in their Champions League group after two games.
