Agbonlahor ‘really worried’ about Dominic Calvert-Lewin amid Everton injury update
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s potential injury could prove to be a “big blow” for Everton and new manager Sean Dyche.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old’s consistent injury problems are becoming “really worrying”.
Calvert-Lewin led the line for Everton during the 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday (4 February) but limped off on 62 minutes.
Speaking post-match and quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Dyche revealed the England international will undergo a scan on a potential hamstring injury in the coming days.
The new Toffees boss suggested Calvert-Lewin’s body is getting “stronger” but hinted at a recurring hamstring problem.
Agbonlahor suggested the striker looked much more like himself against the Gunners after struggling with injuries this season.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s a big blow for Everton.
“He was a bit more like the Calvert-Lewin we know against Arsenal.
“He was physical and a handful, but these injuries are really worrying.
“When he’s at full pelt for more than 30 minutes or a half – he seems to always come out with a knock.
“That’s not a good sign.
“Especially when they’ve only got Maupay and Simms in reserve.
“It’s a worry for Dyche, and I’m sure he’ll be wanting to get to the bottom of these injuries.”

Everton are only inside the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference following Saturday’s (4 February) win.
The Toffees face off against rivals Liverpool on Monday (13 February).
