Agbonlahor: Roofe has hit back at Rangers teammates for ‘kicking the ball at my throat’
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Kemar Roofe may have privately dressed down his Rangers teammates over their poor service.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Roofe will be full of confidence after he bagged a hat-trick in Rangers’ 4-0 win over St Mirren on Sunda (10 April).
The 29-year-old joked to club media after the game it was “finally” nice to recieve some good service.

In the 2-1 defeat to Celtic the previous weekennd and the 1-0 loss to Braga in the Europa League quarter-final Roofe cut an isolated figure and struggled to make an impact.
The hat-trick was his first for the Gers and took his goal tally to 15 goals across all competitions this term.
“An Old Firm game is always going to be tough and Celtic defended really well,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s the sort of striker who needs service, he’s not going to hold the ball up and look good, that’s not his game. He needs the right service so he can make his runs in behind.
“It was good for him to get that hat-trick and good for his confidence, especially with Morelos out injured.

“He will have demanded more from his teammates, 100 per cent. He will have said ‘Stop kicking the ball at my throat, that’s not my style of play. I’m a player who likes to link and play in behind. Not balls that are 50m away from the goal into my neck’.
“It’s all about service as a striker and that’s maybe something they have been working on in the past week in training.”
