Agbonlahor shares ‘crazy’ West Ham prediction after £172m reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed David Moyes to keep West Ham in the Premier League – claiming the Irons have “no right” to be struggling with the talent in their squad.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Hammers should “forget” about their involvement in the Europa Conference League.
West Ham won 2-0 out in Cyprus on Thursday (9 March) in the first leg of their last-16 clash with AEK Larnaca in Europe’s third-rate club competition.
Meanwhile, Moyes’ side sit 16th in the Premier League – outside the drop zone by just one point.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (8 March) that the ex-Man United boss still has the backing of his West Ham squad – a sentiment that is echoed by the club’s board.
The east London club spent a reported transfer outlay of almost £172million across both windows on stars like Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca in a bid to build on consecutive top-seven finishes.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think they’ve got enough talent to stay up.
“They’ve got top players in every position – they’ve got no right to be down at the bottom.
“They’ve got to forget about the Mickey Mouse Cup – the Europa Conference League. The full focus has to be on staying in the Premier League.
“The thing is if they stay up – I can see them pushing for a top-six finish again next season. That’s how it is, football is crazy.

“This just seems like a one-off season.
“I think Moyes can keep them up.”
