Agbonlahor shares crucial Leeds United verdict after crushing Luis Sinisterra blow confirmed – ‘he’s got to’

Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Wilfried Gnonto to show he’s “worth the hype” for Leeds United in the Premier League run-in amid summer interest in his services.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 19-year-old must start in a “must-win” game against Bournemouth after Luis Sinisterra’s injury.

As per Leeds Live (28 April), Leeds boss Javi Gracia confirmed Sinisterra will miss the rest of the season with the Whites battling relegation.

Gnonto has out of the starting lineup in the last six league games but could be restored to the side following the Colombian’s injury.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (24 April) that Premier League and Serie A sides are interested in the Italy international ahead of the summer window.

He has managed four goals and three assists in his debut season in England.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s a must-win game.

“The only comfort they can take is that Bournemouth are on 36 points now.

“Leeds have to hope that Bournemouth take their foot off the gas – but I don’t think Gary O’Neil will do that.

“They have to show that they want it more. There’s not much between the sides in terms of quality.

“Leeds have got to show fight. They did against Leicester, but a draw isn’t enough.

“It’s going to be the same again against Bournemouth.

“I would definitely play Gnonto with Sinisterra’s injury. I think he’s a bit overrated, but he’s got to show why he’s worth the hype.

“There’s a lot of talk about a move in the summer, but he’s got to stop listening to that noise and back it up on the pitch.

“But he’s got to start. They’re not blessed with outstanding wingers, and he’s someone that can make things happen.”
