Agbonlahor suggests Aston Villa response to ‘£70m’ Tottenham bid for John McGinn
Tottenham will not be able to afford to buy John McGinn from Aston Villa, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed McGinn is worth £70million and Steven Gerrard will not entertain the possibility of letting him go.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday (6 June) that Spurs are lining up a move for the 27-year-old as they look to meet Antonio Conte’s high transfer demands.

The Scotland midfielder has three years left on his current deal and Agbonlahor expects him to be a major part of the side in the 2022-23 season.
Asked whether Villa will be worried about McGinn’s future, he told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, I don’t think so.
“I don’t think these clubs can afford him, I don’t think Spurs can afford him. If Aston Villa are going to sell John McGinn, they are going to want a crazy fee, we’re talking £60milliom, £70million.
“He’s a top player, enjoying his football at Aston Villa and recently signed a new contract.
“I don’t think there’s even a discussion to be had. John McGinn suits Aston Villa and Aston Villa suits John McGinn.
“He will be there and I don’t see Steven Gerrard thinking about letting him go. He’s too important in that midfield.
“You’re looking at the midfield now of Ramsey, McGinn and Kamara and, for me, that’s a top midfield.”

McGinn started 35 of Aston Villa’s 38 Premier League games in the 2021-22 season as they finished 14th.
The Glasgow-born ace moved to the club from Hibs in the summer of 2018 and has made 147 appearances across all competitions.
In other news, Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign a player after a record offer.
