Agbonlahor suggests Jordan Pickford will look at signing for Tottenham – ‘definitely’

Jordan Pickford may be itching to move away from Everton after his experiences with England, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Tottenham and Chelsea as possible destinations for England’s number one.

Pickford, 28, has started all of his country’s major tournament games since their opening fixture at the 2018 World Cup.

He put in another heroic performance as England beat Senegal 3-0 in the World Cup round of 16 on Sunday (4 December) to book their place in the quarter-finals.

The former Sunderland stopper has just over 18 months remaining on his contract at Goodison Park.

Asked whether Pickford will be considering his domestic future, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s just about transfer fees and who needs a keeper.

“Liverpool have got a keeper, Man City have got a keeper, Arsenal have got a keeper. Spurs or Chelsea are the two clubs that you look at.

“I think it’s definitely something he’ll look at. Spurs like to play out from the back and he’s good at that. I’d definitely look at him if I was Spurs.

“It all depends on transfer fees and I don’t think it will happen until the summer.

“Pickford will definitely be looking at his teammates and thinking ‘I don’t want to be in a relegation battle, I want to be winning trophies’.”

Everton

Pickford is set to win his 49th England cap when they France on Saturday (10 December) and will be hoping to finish the tournament with more than 50.

He has kept three clean sheets in 14 Premier League games for Everton this term as they struggle at the wrong end of the table.

In other news, Everton are set for an FA investigation after an Alexander Iwobi controversy.
