Agbonlahor ‘sure’ Antony will now be signing for Man United – ‘I’ve heard…’
Gabby Agbonlahor is “sure” Antony will join Man United if the two clubs can agree a fee.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested negotiations could drag on until deadline day and the deal may not be completed until the 11th hour.
Antony told Fabrizio Romano on Friday (26 August) that he has informed Ajax that he wants to leave the club this summer.
Sky Sports reported on Saturday (27 August) that Man United have had a £76.3million offer for the 22-year-old rejected.
“After the start to the season they had, the Liverpool game was an outstanding result for Man United,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They look like a team, the total opposite to what they did in the first two games.
“Antony wants to come to them. It’s different to [Frenkie] De Jong, De Jong doesn’t want to come to Man United but Antony does.
“I think it’s about the right fee. Once the fee can be agreed, I’m sure that he will join Man United.
“It’s about getting that right fee. Maybe he will be one of those that comes in at the end of the window and they agree it with the right fee that they want.
“I’ve heard he’s a very good player.”

Antony has scored 24 times and provided 22 assists in 82 games across all competitions for Ajax.
The Brazil international has been left out of their matchday squad for their previous two games amid speculation over his future.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Man United are ready to strike a £200million deal as a Glazer funding plan emerges.
