Agbonlahor tips Aston Villa to launch triple attacker swoop after El Ghazi update

Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Anwar El Ghazi, Bertrand Traore and Anwar El Ghazi could all be sold by Aston Villa this month.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer suggested the club will replace the trio with three new attackers.

A club source told Football Insider last year (29 November) two of the wingers could leave Villa Park in the January transfer window.

This site exclusively revealed on Saturday (1 January) West Ham are plotting a move for El Ghazi.

Aston Villa want to offload the 26-year-old permanently to raise funds for incomings but are also open to loan offers.

“Even The two players coming back from the Africa Cup of Nations they might be players who he lets go as well,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I can actually see Steven Gerrard with the likes of Traore, Trezeguet and El Ghazi letting them go if they can get the right money in for them, to be honest.

“Then you can have three more attacking players coming in. He will know he needs more.

“I do like Traore but he needs more. Steven Gerrard will want to take this Villa team into Europe. He will know with these attacking players he needs more.

“He needs more help for Buendia, he needs more help for Ings and Watkins. With your wingers, you need goals from them. The game’s changed, they have to score goals as well and at the moment that’s not happened.”
