Agbonlahor: West Ham ready to axe Gianluca Scamacca after big-money reveal
Gianluca Scamacca will not start every game for West Ham, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed David Moyes will rotate Scamacca and Michail Antonio depending on the opponent.
The 23-year-old has scored six times in 12 games across all competitions and made it back-to-back Premier League goals in the 3-1 win over Fulham on Sunday (9 October).
Antonio scored his first goal since the beginning of September in the London derby as he replaced Scamacca for the final 10 minutes.
The two are yet to share the pitch together since Scamacca’s £35million move from Sassuolo in the summer.
As quoted by football.london after the game, Moyes insisted the striker is living up to the price tag.
“Scamacca looks like he can score a goal and they are giving him service,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He looked a threat, his hold-up play is good and he’s trying to get into the box to score goals. I think he’s definitely going to have a good Premier League career.
“He offers a different solution for David Moyes. There might be games where it suits Antonio more and there might be games where it suits Scamacca more.
“I think he’s done well and he’s got to keep it going. Can he keep this form going for the next six weeks?”

West Ham’s win over Fulham was the first time they have registered back-to-back victories in the Premier League this season.
They are next in domestic action on Sunday (16 October) when they travel to Southampton and they could climb into the top half with a win.
In other news, West Ham could sack David Moyes now after a source’s Mauricio Pochettino reveal.
