Agent of Celtic star jets out to London PL club as speculation swirls about Jan switch – report

Moussa Dembele’s agent Mamadi Fofana jetted out to London on Boxing Day to watch Brighton play Chelsea in the Premier League as speculation swirls around the future of the Celtic star, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun claims that Fofana was in the stands at Stamford Bridge to watch the Seagulls lose 2-0 in the Premier League after it was widely reported that Brighton’s £18million bid was accepted by the Hoops for Dembele.

However it is understood that the Scottish Premiership championship have rubbished any notion that a deal has been agreed to offload the 21-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

Dembele has been in top goalscoring form ever since signing for Celtic last summer from Fulham.

The France Under-21 international was a large part in helping the Glasgow giants win the Scottish treble last term without suffering a single defeat in domestic competition.

Injuries got the better of him in the second half of the campaign and in the early parts of the current one, but the ex-Paris Saint-Germain youngster is rapidly showing that he is one of most in-form strikers in British football.

Football Insider verdict

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that Celtic will lose Dembele in 2018 – but for their sake, they better hope it’s in the summer. The Hoops have shown signs that they are nowhere near the form they reached last term so they will need to keep hold of all their best players if they want to make it as far as possible in the Europa League. Dembele is key to that because he seems to be the only striker at Parkhead who can step it up against the big European teams. Leigh Griffiths has slipped down the pecking order while Odsonne Edouard is yet to really have a good game against tough opposition.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops are expected to seal a swoop for this top-flight defender wanted by Rangers.
