‘Agree with every word’, ‘Brilliant’ – Rangers fans are loving Dave King statement
Rangers chairman Dave King has demanded a second independent investigation be launched into the Scottish football authorities over a potential conflict of interest – and Gers fans are delighted with the response from the Ibrox giants.
The Ibrox giants want SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan suspended as an investigation is carried out after he was appointed to the board of an Irish media company owned by Celtic’s biggest individual shareholder Dermot Desmond.
Gers fans are delighted to see the club put pressure on the football authorities after feeling like they’ve had to roll over for the past six years.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
MacLennan was appointed SPFL chairman in 2017 after Ralph Topping resigned and was recently named to the board of Independent News & Media Group who have Desmond as their second-biggest shareholder.
The Gers have already called for an investigation into Scottish FA director Gary Hughes after an article emerged from 2006 in which he referred to Rangers fans as the “great unwashed.”
The Ibrox giants were recently cited by the Scottish FA for an alleged breach of their licencing rules back in 2011 – with the Light Blues seemingly taking the fight straight back to them as the club begins to normalise following their financial meltdown in 2012.
