‘Alejandro Garnacho wants to join Aston Villa’ after Man United bust-up – fans explode

Alejandro Garnacho’s latest social media post has left Aston Villa fans pondering the possibility of a sensational transfer.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made clear that Garnacho has no future at Old Trafford, after the 20-year-old’s publicly negative reaction to being left out of their Europa League Final squad.

Garnacho watched from the stands as the Red Devils lost to Tottenham in Bilbao, and failure to qualify for European football next season means Man United must sell players in order to balance the books.

United’s campaign also panned out minus Marcus Rashford for its second half after his loan move to Villa in January, and controversy sparked by his claret and blue jersey could eventually lead Garnacho to Villa Park.

Garnacho dons Rashford shirt as Aston Villa move mooted

Like Man United, Villa failed to reach next season’s Champions League at the final hurdle and therefore miss out on the financial windfall this would bring to Villa Park, but that hasn’t stunted their ambitions.

Although their chances of completing a permanent deal for Rashford this summer look slim, Villa have previously been urged to switch their attention to Garnacho despite his £70million price tag at United.

Garnacho has added fuel to that fire, however, by posing in a ‘RASHFORD 9’ Villa shirt in a post on Instagram (22 June), and the Lions loanee commented below with the message of: “My brother”.

Garnacho gives Aston Villa transfer hint – ‘come and get me plea?’

Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider on 1 June that Man United are willing to drop Garnacho’s price tag to £50m in a move which will give Villa encouragement, but they’ll still face an uphill battle.

Champions League-bound clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with moves for Garnacho, but Villa fans on social media questioned if his Instagram post was a “come and get me plea”.

Villans supporters expect to “let the rumours commence” after the unlikely sight of Garnacho donning their shirt, and one fan said “hopefully it’s not the last time” that the Argentine wears claret and blue.
