Alex Iwobi: Pundit excited by transformed Everton star after what he’s seen in person
Alan Hutton has heralded Alex Iwobi’s transformation under Frank Lampard at Everton.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he was blown away by what he saw from the 25-year-old in the 3-0 win over Leeds United.
Iwobi started on the right wing and played the full 90 minutes against the Whites.

Hutton was at Goodison Park to watch the Toffees’ win in person.
He admitted he saw a different side from Iwobi on Saturday afternoon.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “You could see right away what Lampard wanted. He wanted people to be aggressive, he wanted them to be on the front foot.
“Play attacking football, win the ball up high and then play from up there. It’s not rocket science but you need everybody to buy into that philosophy to get the best out of it.
“When you’ve got people like Iwobi, there have been question marks over Iwobi for a long, long time. It’s probably one of the best games I’ve seen him play, just because of the aggression in his play.
“Not only was he going forward, he worked defensively really hard as well. That’s obviously what Frank Lampard wants from his players. He knows he’s got the quality in that squad to go and trouble teams.
“They showed that on the day. He kind of galvanised everybody, if you want. The crowd, the players, everybody was pulling in the one direction. You could see that with the performance.”

The win over Leeds was Iwobi’s first start under Lampard.
He has played 17 times across all competitions for Everton this season.
