Alex Murphy to make full debut in four changes – Newcastle United predicted XI vs Qarabag
Alex Murphy could be set to make his full Newcastle United debut on Tuesday against Qarabag in the Champions League knockout play-off second leg.
The Magpies go into the tie with a huge advantage, having won 6-1 in Azerbaijan.
However, while Eddie Howe may have been tempted into changes due to their comprehensive lead, injuries and suspensions have left him short on options at the back.
As it stands, Kieran Trippier, Lewis Hall and Dan Burn remain his only fit defenders for the tie, which could give Murphy the opportunity to come into the starting XI.
The 21-year-old centre-back has been part of the matchday squad multiple times this season and has made four first-team appearances.
Newcastle set for attacking and defensive changes vs Qarabag
Howe has plenty of decisions to make ahead of the tie. While he will want to rest players, considering that Newcastle are essentially through, he will also want a comprehensive victory to get their form back on track.
As a result, Football Insider believe that he will make four changes to give other players a chance to impress, while also fielding a strong starting XI.
