Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tipped to quit Liverpool for European club for sub-‘£10m’ after update – pundit

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to move from Liverpool to a European club for less than £10million this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed there will not be much interest for the 28-year-old in the Premier League.

The Mirror reported last week (6 June) that Liverpool will allow Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

It is claimed they will demand a fee of at least £10million for the versatile midfielder.

Asked whether he thought there would be plenty of suitors at that price, Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “Not really, no.

“Just because he’s £10million, clubs will still have to look at his wage demands, what’s his injury record like? How many games can he play without breaking down?

“You’ve got to look at everything nowadays, clubs don’t touch players who are likely to be injury prone.

“You can say £10million but I can’t see a top-10 club taking him. With his injury record and lack of game time, clubs are going to go for other targets.

“I’m sure he can find a Premier League club but not a top-10 one.

“You haven’t heard of him sniffing around the England squad for how many years now. That’s how you can really judge a player in the Premier League if they are getting talked about for the country.

“If not, you know they are not really at the level that you want, especially a top-six, top-eight club.

“Liverpool might not even get the £10million they want. It might be a case of him trying a move abroad like a lot of players do.”
