Newcastle striker Alexander Isak took to social media to send a message to the fans after their 2-0 League Cup semi-final win over Arsenal on Wednesday (February 5).

The 25-year-old had a starring role for Eddie Howe's side across the two legs as Newcastle secured their Wembley place with a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal.

Isak thought he opened the scoring for the home side after just four minutes, but his strike was ultimately ruled out by VAR for offside.

He had a similar opportunity in the 19th minute, but his striker hit the post, allowing Jacob Murphy to score into an open net with David Raya nowhere to be seen.

But Isak was sensational across the two legs, blowing Arsenal away with his searing pace, movement and radar-like eye for goal, and further enhanced his reputation as one of the outstanding strikers in not only the Premier League but across the globe.

Raya was the centre of attention for Newcastle's second goal after his attempt to play out from the back was intercepted, giving Anthony Gordon a perfect chance to score.

Isak has been arguably the best striker in the Premier League this season, starting all 27 of his games across all competitions, scoring 19 goals, and providing five assists in his 2189 minutes of action.

The striker took to Instagram after Newcastle's impressive win over Mikel Arteta's Arsenal to celebrate, simply saying: "Wembley."

Howe's attention will turn from the League Cup to the FA Cup, as they prepare for a trip to League One side Birmingham City on Saturday (February 8).
