Alfredo Morelos backed to complete ‘sensational’ Rangers return after what pundit has heard

Rangers want to bring back Alfredo Morelos after his contract expired.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said he’s heard that Michael Beale is unhappy with his options up front and is keen to bring Morelos back to Ibrox.

The 27-year-old left the Glasgow club last month following the expiration of his contract but has been unable to find a new club.

According to The Scotsman (31 July), English Championship side Watford are weighing up a move for the Colombia international with clubs in Saudi Arabia also believed to be interested in his services.

But McAvennie suggested a sensational return to Rangers could be on the cards for the striker.

I heard that they are wanting to bring Morelos back, which would be sensational,” he told Football Insider.

Beale seems to be unhappy with the firepower that he has got.

I can’t understand why Morelos has not got a new club yet, it is weird. It baffles me but you can’t just stroll through a season and hope somebody is going to sign you.

He downed tools and even on a free teams do not want that. He is clearly finding it harder than what he thought he would.

Rangers

Beale has already added several attacking assets to the club with the arrivals of Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers.

But the Gers lost their opening game of the season at the hands of a 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock on Saturday (5 August).
