Alfredo Morelos has ‘told’ Rangers he is staying after source’s offer reveal – pundit

Frank McAvennie has claimed Rangers should have sold Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos for “£1million” in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said the only reason the pair will stay at Ibrox is if they have no other offers.

Both Kent and Morelos are out of contract in the summer and could quit the Glasgow giants for free.

On 2 March, sources told this site that the Gers have offered new deals to the duo and are still in talks with both players over potential extensions.

The Light Blues are keen to keep the attackers beyond this season but neither has made a final decision on whether they will stay.

But McAvennie claimed the pair should have already been out the door.

Even if they got £1m or £2m for each of them, it is better than absolutely nothing,” he told Football Insider.

I just do not know why they would not have done that, it beggars belief. I can’t believe that they would do that.

The players would have told Rangers if they were staying or leaving. They might stay and the only reason they will want to stay is because they are not getting any offers.

Rangers

I can’t see a queue for Morelos or even Kent. Morelos is still nowhere near what he was and I am just thinking if he wants a move he has got to do it on the pitch.

It is a strange one what is going to happen with these boys. Only the board will know why they have done this. If they have done it because they think Celtic are going to drop points then it has backfired big time.

In other news, a pundit has slammed ‘diabolical’ Rangers as permanent deal offered – ‘should be sacked’.
