Alfredo Morelos regretting Rangers exit amid ‘big’ claim – ‘there are stories,’ says pundit
No one wants to take a chance on former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie suggested the Gers could have made £5million from selling Morelos last summer.
The 27-year-old left Ibrox for free following the expiration of his contract this summer but despite being available on a free transfer still finds himself without a club.
As relayed by The Sun (27 June), the Colombian is believed to have an offer from Azerbaijan side Qarabag for a move this summer.
But McAvennie insisted no team will want to take the striker after last season’s performances.
“He looked well overweight when he played last year so I do not know if he is going to get that back off,” he told Football Insider.
“I do not know who would want him. Even for nothing no one is taking a chance on him, it is incredible. Even last year they could have got £5m for him.
“There are stories coming out about him not turning up and being late. That is alright if you turn up at the weekend.
“If you turn up and have a bad influence in the dressing room, nobody is going to stick up for you. You can’t let your teammates down and he let his down big time.“

Morelos made 45 appearances for Michael Beale’s side across all competitions last season.
He netted just 12 goals and provided seven assists in those outings.
