Alfredo Morelos set to quit Rangers on free transfer amid ‘unbelievable’ claim – pundit

Alfredo Morelos will leave Rangers for free in the summer.

That’s according to former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Morelos’ future at Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record (28 November), the Gers are unlikely to renew their interest in Sunderland striker Ross Stewart.

Rangers

The Glasgow giants had been linked with a move for the forward in the summer but are now unlikely to reignite their interest until they sell Morelos or bring in money from a big sale in January.

Morelos has entered the final six months of his contract at Ibrox and could leave for free in the summer.

The striker has struggled for minutes this season following the arrival of Antonio Colak and has not yet opted to sign an extension with the Bears.

McAvennie suggested the Colombian may not be playing football anywhere next season.

Morelos will leave for free and he will not get any club,” he told Football Insider.

The Morelos of last year in the Europa League is gone. I do not think the guy has got it in him to get that back. He was a predator, he was an unbelievably good player. He was their talisman.

Rangers

There is two ways it can work. One way, he comes back and works his socks off to get that move. Which I think is disrespectful to the fans because they know you are only doing it to get a move.

Or he can go and work his socks off so that Rangers can sell him because he is going to move.

In other news, Kieran Maguire has insisted Rangers fans will be ‘incensed’ as £11m legal payout on cards.
