‘All of a sudden…’ – Celtic man hails Glen Kamara transformation under new Rangers regime

Frank McAvennie has hailed Michael Beale for his part in Glen Kamara’s resurgence at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker doesn’t understand why former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst was reluctant to utilise Kamara.

The 27-year-old was in the starting lineup for the Gers’ 3-2 victory over Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

Under Van Bronckhorst the Finland international started just three Premiership games this season.

Since Beale took over in December, Kamara has been on the bench twice in the ten league games he has featured in.

The midfielder was on the scoresheet for the Gers’ 2-0 victory over St Johnstone on 28 January.

As quoted by The Herald after the game, Kamara said he is hopeful Beale can bring out the best in him.

He added that Beale has helped him a lot during his career and is keen to repay him on the pitch.

McAvennie has been delighted by Kamara’s resurgence under the new boss.

He has brought Kamara back and I thought he should never have been out the team,” he told Football Insider.

Rangers

He is a good player and Gio did not put him in the team for some reason. He has come back and all of a sudden they are starting to play a bit better.

[Alfredo] Morelos is starting to play a bit better, has got that hunger about him and the more games he plays the sharper he will get. They are doing alright. He should be concentrating on that.

In other news, according to sources, Rangers are plotting to sign ex-Liverpool star Shamal George after scouting mission.
