All the games Connor Barron could now miss for Rangers after devasting injury blow

Rangers’ title ambition have now suffered a major setback, with Connor Barron expected to miss a number of games for Danny Rohl’s side.

The midfielder was forced off late on in the 2-0 win against Aberdeen on Tuesday, as he limped off in the dying minutes of the game.

Under Rohl, Barron has established himself as one of Rangers’ best players, and was easily the man of the match against the Dons.

His performances have helped to put the Old Firm side back in the title race, with the Gers now just three points off Hearts at the summit.

However, if Rohl is to continue Rangers’ title push, he is going to have to do it without Barron, who is now expected to be out until March.

Connor Barron expected to be out until March for Rangers

According to the Daily Record on 8 January, Barron is expected to be out of action until March.

The midfielder has now suffered a knee injury, despite initial hopes that he would be fit for this weekend.

As a result, Barron will miss at least 10 matches in all competitions for the Gers if he returns on 1 March for the Old Firm derby.

This includes seven Scottish Premiership matches, two Europa League ties and their Scottish Cup fourth round game against Annan Athletic.

If Rangers were to progress in both cup competitions, Barron would end up missing out on further fixtures for the Gers.

Thelo Aasgaard has final chance to impress Danny Rohl

With Barron out of action for the foreseeable future, Thelo Aasgaard is likely to return to the starting XI.

To date, the summer signing has proven to be far too inconsistent at Ibrox, and returned to the bench once again in the Aberdeen win.

Against Celtic, Aasgaard was awful and was rightly taken off at half-time, something that helped change the game for the Gers.

However, with Rohl currently having few midfield options, the former Luton Town star could be given a run in the starting XI once again.

This could prove to be Aasgaard’s final chance to impress Rohl, with the midfielder having few striking performances to date.
