Ally McCoist rips into Mohamed Salah live on air after Liverpool bombshell
Ally McCoist has weighed in on the ongoing feud between Arne Slot and Mohamed Salah, following the Egyptian’s comments on Saturday.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday that Saudi Pro League clubs have begun to move for Salah, with the Egyptian’s future at Anfield in serious doubt.
Liverpool drew 3-3 with Leeds United on Saturday, but it was the winger’s bombshell interview after the game that attracted much of the attention.
Salah admitted that he no longer has a relationship with Slot, after the Dutchman decided to leave him on the bench for the third consecutive game.
Slot is under massive pressure at Liverpool, with decision-makers at Anfield considering dismissing the former Feyenoord boss just months after he lifted the Premier League title.
Ally McCoist backs Arne Slot decision
Salah‘s comments have caused a split in the Liverpool fanbase. Some fans side with the winger, slamming Slot for his treatment of the Reds legend.
But others sympathise with the Dutchman, who is, in reality, facing massive backlash for simply dropping an out-of-form player.
The problem, however, is that several other Liverpool players have kept their places in the starting line-up despite also failing to impress.

Ibrahima Konate, for example, has made several mistakes this season, yet appears on the team sheet week-in, week-out, without failure.
And Cody Gakpo, who, despite performing well against West Ham, has done little to justify his inclusion over Federico Chiesa.
McCoist was keen to understand Slot’s thinking when he spoke about the situation to talkSPORT on Monday.
“He’s been left out of the team due to poor form,” the former Rangers manager said. “He has been unbelievable, arguably one of the best – that’s not up for debate.
“Take the coach out of the situation, take Arne Slot completely out of the situation. In my opinion, Mo Salah, on current form, probably doesn’t deserve to play in the Liverpool side.”
“I think it’s easier to drop Mo Salah, he deserves to be dropped, because you’ve got other players in those areas,” McCoist added. “I’m not saying Van Dijk and Konate’s form has been good, because it’s not.
“It’s harder to drop them because the replacements in that particular position aren’t of the same quality.”
Mohamed Salah to be dropped from squad
Liverpool will take on Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, before hosting Brighton at Anfield on Saturday.
According to talkSPORT, Salah is unlikely to travel with the rest of the team for either game, with the Liverpool board keen to back Slot.
But it is becoming clear that the winger’s comments have left a rift in the Dutchman’s squad.
Whether it be Slot or Salah, an exit from Liverpool currently feels inevitable in the coming months.
