Altay Bayindir sends message to Man United fans after shock transformation

Altay Bayindir has sent a message to fans after he turned his Man United career on its head with a stunning performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday (12 January).

The 20-time champions progressed into the fourth round of the competition following a penalty shootout after originally drawing 1-1 with the Gunners after extra time.

Bayindir had an action-packed game which saw him save a penalty from Martin Odegaard during normal time, as well as making an impressive point-blank save from a Declan Rice header.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper also played a crucial role in the penalty shootout itself as Bayindir saved one from Kai Havertz.

This was only his fourth performance of the season for United as he has spent the majority of the campaign as the back-up to Andre Onana.

However, his performance proved to be impressive enough to earn him the Player of the Match award and praise from club captain Bruno Fernandes.

Altay Bayindir positively reflected on his Man United performance

The goalkeeper put together a strong performance as he made six saves, two punches, and 10 recoveries throughout the game.

The Turkey international reflected on is performance with a message on social media, making it clear how much the fixture meant to him.

Bayindir said, “A victory to remember! We never gave up until the end. We will keep fighting for this badge and achieving victories together, thanks to the passion of our fans.”

United will host Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on 8 February as the club aims to retain the trophy.

However, up next for the 20-time champions is a Premier League fixture against Southampton on Thursday (16 January).
