Amad Diallo sends message to Lisandro Martinez after devastating Man United blow

Man United forward Amad Diallo took to social media to send a message to teammate Lisandro Martinez after his recent injury setback.

Martinez, 27, is set to miss the rest of the season for Man United after tearing his ACL in their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday (February 2).

The centre-back left the pitch in tears on a stretcher, with many fans believing his injury could have serious ramifications for the rest of their season.

Ruben Amorim’s side are now seriously lacking in numbers at the heart of defense, with just Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Johnny Evans, and Victor Lindelof, the only natural options available to play in the Portuguese coach’s 3-4-3 system.

The club’s unwillingness to back their new manager in the January transfer window has become a point of contention among the fans, with many suggesting Amorim may walk.

Martinez had been key for United before his most recent injury, starting 31 of his 32 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing two assists in his 2711 minutes of action.

The wonderkid took to Instagram to send a message to his injured teammate, saying: “You will come back stronger Hermano.”

Attacking midfielder Mason Mount, who is also out injured, also took to social media to send a message to the Argentina international.
