Andoni Iraola is primed and ready to replace Ruben Amorim at Man United

Bournemouth came from behind to win yet another game with late goals amid reports linking Andoni Iraola with replacing Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

This is the biggest hint yet that the intense Spaniard is primed and ready to take on the almighty United job.

After the embarrassment that was Manchester United‘s Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town, Neil Warnock has poked fun at Ruben Amorim.

Despite being under immense pressure, Amorim will not quit his job and is leaving his fate in the hands of the club hierarchy.

Amorim has now been told Sunderland is a must-win amid his bleak situation at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils still seeking their third Premier League win of the season.

Like Sir Alex Ferguson, Andoni Iraola has a knack for late goals

On Friday (3 October), Bournemouth came from behind to win another game with a handful of late goals.

Antoine Semenyo grabbed a brace, scoring in the 78th and 96th minutes, while Justin Kluivert scored a wonder goal from long range in the 84th minute to break Fulham fans’ hearts.

The game was level for 70 minutes before Ryan Sessegnon scored, but their lead lasted just eight minutes before the comeback was completed 14 minutes after the Cottagers first went ahead.

With Iraola linked with the Man United job, it’s no surprise. Like the greatest United manager of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson, Iraola is clearly blessed with an inevitable knack for late goals, with his side the best in the country at it.

Stats prove it: Andoni Iraola has the ‘Fergie Time’ trait

While many might believe that Liverpool are the kings of late goals – they certainly are this season with five late winners – Bournemouth have been frustrating Premier League opposition for over a year with their tendency to score late on in games.

More impressively, Bournemouth have scored the most goals late in games that actually affected the result. This is the most clutch trait a team can have in a league where a result is never truly guaranteed until the referee blows the whistle.

United fans are hoping that their club’s fortunes can be overturned, and while Iraola would be a good fit, it will take a lot more than a handful of late goals to get them back to the perch Ferguson placed them on during his illustrious reign in the Old Trafford hot seat.
