Ange Postecoglou has ‘headache’ at Celtic after Mortiz Jenz development – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has a “good headache” regarding Mortiz Jenz and Carl Starfelt.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said Starfelt’s goal last weekend will not guarantee his place in the team.
Both Starfelt and Jenz scored as the Hoops beat Kilmarnock 5-0 last Sunday (14 August).
Starfelt missed all of the Bhoys’ pre-season fixtures because of a hamstring injury.
Jenz was named in the starting lineup against Kilmarnock but was replaced by Starfelt in the second half after an injury.
As reported by the Herald (14 August), Jenz’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the centre-back situation at Parkhead, Hutton said: “I think it’s a headache but it’s a good headache to have if I’m totally honest.

“I think Celtic look really good at this moment in time. Jenz has come in and he’s done really well. What I like is he’s quite comfortable coming out with the ball, he’s physical, he’s imposing, he gets on the end of things. Me, personally, I think him and Carter-Vickers would be the best pairing at this moment in time.
“That’s not to say that Starfelt has done anything wrong, it’s just that someone’s come in and done really well so why would he change it? I know he’s come on and scored but ultimately he’s there to be strong defensively and I think Jenz ticks all those boxes. So I think, moving forward, it’s his shirt for now. But I think competition is only going to make the team better.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Celtic could sanction Giorgios Giakoumakis exit after journalist’s update.
