‘Ange Postecoglou will be sacked’ after Daniel Levy twist at Tottenham – Expert

Daniel Levy is planning to sack Ange Postecoglou to relieve the pressure on his own position at Tottenham, according to the club’s former scout.

Mick Brown, who also spent time at the likes of Man United and West Ham and remains very well-connected within the game, exclusively told Football Insider that the chairman will look to pin the blame and negativity on the manager.

This comes after fans have called for Levy to leave the club following their 4-3 defeat to Chelsea, while Jamie Carragher was critical of him live on Sky Sports.

Under the chairman’s guidance, 14 managers have taken charge at Spurs, and much of the focus has now shifted onto his position amid questions about the decision-making process.

Brown has now insisted that Levy will not take any responsibility for their failings and instead is quick to shift the blame onto the managers by dismissing them.

Pressure on Postecoglou’s position has continued to grow amid inconsistent results and a lack of defensive stability, with patience beginning to wear thin.

As a result, there is a growing feeling that pressure from the stands could see the boss dismissed from his role imminently.

Daniel Levy expected to sack Ange Postecoglou amid growing Tottenham pressure

Tottenham supporters are growing tired of the continued issues both on and off the pitch, with fingers being pointed at both Postecoglou and Levy.

Brown, who has worked closely with managers and owners including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson in over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that he now expects Postecoglou to lose his job.

Daniel Levy has sacked more managers than I can count,” he told Football Insider.

There’s a long list of managers who he’s appointed and then had to sack them down the line.

“But the basis on which he sacked them is always when the pressure is starting to turn towards him, he gets rid of the manager to take the pressure off.

“They weren’t all bad managers, but he doesn’t take any responsibility for the situation.

“Now, he’s starting to feel that pressure again, so I expect Postecoglou will be sacked.

“I think he’s a good manager. The football is chaotic and it often leads to them losing games, and their defense is certainly a concern, but there are other issues at the club.

Tottenham, Daniel Levy

“The problem is, fans point the finger at Levy, so he pulls the trigger and puts all of the blame on the manager every time.

“From what I’ve heard, that could very much be the situation again here.”
