Ange Postecoglou ‘winding people up’ as Celtic footage emerges – ‘I’ve spoken to him,’ says expert
Frank McAvennie has insisted Ange Postecoglou wants to “make a statement” with Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker was pleased to see Postecoglou’s sense of humour come out last weekend.
As shown on Sky Sports (8 March), the Australian could been seen making fun of Cameron Carter-Vickers’ wayward pass against St Mirren last weekend (5 February).
When asked about it in his press conference, the Hoops boss said that although he has a sense of humour, he is not “in the dressing room pulling pranks”.
The Celts won the game 5-1 despite being 1-0 down in the first half.
Postecoglou’s side showed the same resilience against Hearts on Wednesday (8 March), and won 3-1 despite conceding inside the first ten minutes.
When asked if he was surprised to see a different side to Ange, McAvennie told Football Insider: “He is quite funny.
“He likes to wind people up, you can always tell when he calls people ‘mate’ that they have asked a stupid question.

“I have spoken to him a couple of times and he has been great. He knows everything about the club because he knew who I was.
“He has got a sense of humour and I think he likes it in Glasgow. I am pleased because I think he is going to stick around for a while. Every job that comes up he will be linked with but he is wanting to make a statement with Celtic.“
