Anthony Gordon dedicates goal celebration – heartwarming footage emerges

Anthony Gordon dedicated his first-ever England goal to a young fan who has been diagnosed with hyper IGE syndrome.

England shared a video of the 23-year-old meeting Ivy, in which the young Newcastle fan provided the winger with a cartwheel celebration to use for one of his next goals.

That moment came on Sunday (17 November) in what proved to be a pivotal point in his career as he scored his first goal for the Three Lions as part of their emphatic 5-0 win against Ireland.

Gordon stayed true to his word and after his initial celebration he performed the cartwheel and blew a kiss to Ivy as a sign of respect.

Gordon told England’s media team, “I’ve been thinking about doing it for a long time, it’s for a little girl, a great cause, a little girl called Ivy that I got the pleasure to spend time with.

“She’s got hyper IGE syndrome, such a pleasure to be around her and I promised her I’d do that celebration for her and I’m a man of my word.”

Anthony Gordon is continuing to impress for England

Gordon is continuing to impress on the international stage after gaining more regular playing time under Lee Carsley.

The Newcastle United winger started in all but one of Carsley’s six interim games in charge of the team, and Gordon rewarded that faith by scoring his first goal on Sunday.

The 5-0 victory was an important one for England as it guaranteed they topped their Nations League group and secured promotion back to the A league of the competition.
