Anthony Gordon told to reject Chelsea offer after Everton source’s update – pundit
Anthony Gordon should stay at Everton this summer for the good of his own development.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Gordon’s future.
Football Insider reported earlier this week (16 August) that the Blues were readying a new £50million bid for the 21-year-old after an submitting an initial £40million offer.

A source updated this site on Thursday (18 August) to reveal they have offered midfielder Billy Gilmour and striker Michy Batshuayi plus cash in exchange for Gordon.
Kenny claims Gordon should turn down the move if Chelsea return with an acceptable bid.
“It’s going to be hard to keep him but I think he has to stay,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I really believe that. I don’t think he is going to get in at Chelsea. He’s not going to be playing week in week out, is he?
“He is going to be the main man at Everton. Obviously, we aren’t in his shoes, we don’t know what it’s like, but he is an Everton fan.
“It’s hard to go away from there. For me, I think he is still developing, it’s early doors. At least at Everton, he will play every minute.
“I find it strange but if Chelsea up the bid then sometimes you just can’t afford to turn it down.”

Gordon made 35 appearances in the 2021-22 Premier League season scoring four goals and registering two assists.
He has made 62 total appearances for the club, making his debut on 7 December 2017 in Everton’s Europa League match away to Apollon Limassol.
