Antoine Semenyo reacts to Justin Kluivert’s message after Bournemouth exit update
Antoine Semenyo reacted to a message from Bournemouth teammate Justin Kluivert after an update on the winger’s future.
The Ghanaian winger enjoyed a true breakout season for the Cherries in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 13 and assisting six in all competitions.
Bournemouth looked as if they might qualify for European football, but a late-season slump in form cost them a chance of competing on the continent for the first time in the club’s history.
Thanks to his stunning form for Andoni Iraola‘s side, Newcastle are now considering signing Semenyo, Pete O’Rourke revealed exclusively to Football Insider.
The Magpies missed out on Bryan Mbeumo who is likely Man United-bound, but would likely face competition for the former Bristol City winger.
And Semenyo may not be the only Bournemouth star on the move this summer, with teammate Kluivert also attracting interest after a similarly impressive season.

Justin Kluivert shares message after international duty
Following the end of the club campaign, Kluivert joined up with the Netherlands squad for their first two World Cup qualifying matches against Finland and Malta.
The 26-year-old featured in both games, as the Oranje ran out 2-0 and 8-0 winners, beginning their qualifying campaign in style.
After the destruction of Malta, Kluivert shared several images on Instagram, captioned: “2/2, Great way to end the season”, and the post was liked by Semenyo, showing support for his Bournemouth teammate.
Bournemouth face daunting prospect of retaining talented core
Football Insider Verdict
Most teams enter the transfer window dreaming of how they can improve their team, but Iraola’s side is facing the nightmarish prospect of being picked apart.
Dean Huijsen has already left for Real Madrid, Milos Kerkez looks Liverpool-bound, and Illia Zabarnyi is a target for PSG this summer.
And that’s before addressing the interest that Semenyo and Kluivert themselves have garnered, whilst Iraola himself was a target for Tottenham and Real Madrid.
The interest in their players speaks to how successful the on and off field departments at the club have worked together.
But put simply, Bournemouth cannot afford to sell the entire core of their squad this summer, no matter how strong their recruitment has been in recent years, as the consequences could will be dire.
