Antonio Conte braced for ‘worst news’ after Tottenham injury scare – pundit
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is braced for “the worst news” on Harry Kane after a fresh injury scare.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the England captain’s latest injury scare.
The 29-year-old was sent for a scan on his ankle after he was forced off during the 6-2 win over Iran on Monday (21 November).
However, Kane was fit to start against the USA on Friday (25 November) though he failed to find the back of the net.
McAvennie insists Tottenham could lose all momentum in the hunt for a top-four spot if Kane misses even a month’s worth of action.
“Conte must be watching the tv with his hands over his eyes every night,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Where would Tottenham be without Kane this season, mid-table probably. If he gets injured out there then you’re in trouble.
“Richarlison hasn’t been doing it for Tottenham and no one else has really been in the goals. So the whole ankle thing must be so worrying for Conte.
“Kane is in the form of his life as well. It would be so hard to replace him at the best of times but there aren’t many players in the world who could score the number of goals he has this season.

“Tottenham are in big trouble if he even misses a month through injury because they won’t win, it’s that simple.
“Conte must just be waiting to hear the worst news, a call from Kane or the news telling him that his player is injured again.”
In other news, one pundit has issued an ‘absolutley priceless’ Ben Davies claim after what he’s seen from Tottenham.
