Antonio Conte has ‘made up his mind’ on Joe Rodon after Tottenham source reveal – expert
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has “made up his mind” on Joe Rodon and will allow the defender to leave in the summer.
That is the view of former White Hart Lane number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s future after an impressive display for Wales.
Rodon played the full 90 minutes on Thursday as Wales beat Austria 2-1 in their World Cup qualification clash.
The centre-half has struggled for game time in north London this season, with just eight appearances to his name.
A Spurs source told Football Insider (5 March) that the player has set his sights on a summer exit.
Rodon’s contract expires in the summer of 2025.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if Conte should try to keep Rodon, Robinson said: “One performance will not change anything.
“I can’t see him getting a run between now and the end of the season. Conte has already made up his mind on him.
“Rodon’s had no opportunities, even when Dier was out. I’m sure it is an area they will strengthen in the summer.
“You question whether Rodon is good enough for that top, top level even though he did well last season. If Spurs want to compete in the top four he probably isn’t that level.

“If Conte is going to have carte blanche to do whatever he wants in the transfer market I think he’ll want a player who is on a different level.
“I think Rodon has been hard done by though because he does well whenever he plays.”
