Antonio Conte has ‘no qualms’ dropping Son Heung-min after what pundit has spotted at Tottenham
Frank McAvennie has claimed a goal drought will not force Son Heung-min out of the Tottenham starting XI.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-West Ham striker insisted Antonio Conte will have “no fears” over dropping big names from his starting XI.
Both Son and Richarlison were in the starting lineup for Spurs’ 2-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday (3 September).
Son failed to score for the sixth successive game in the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The South Korea international has provided just one assist in his six outings to date this season.
He finished last season joint top-scorer with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
McAvennie said Son has been doing a lot of work for Tottenham on the pitch, despite his limited attacking returns.
“I think he does a lot of work, more than what we see,” he told Football Insider‘s Charlotte Cohen.
“His teammates appreciate what he’s doing because he’s not scoring goals but he is taking a lot of pressure off Kane and I don’t know if Richarlison can do that.
“I do not think he’s [Son] playing too bad he’s just not scoring goals.

“But Conte will have no fears of dropping anyone, not a chance.
“He’s one of the top managers in the world, there is not a chance that he’ll have any qualms about leaving any player out. I think he’d even drop Kane if he wasn’t doing it.“
