Antonio Conte told to ‘ forget’ bold Tottenham summer transfer plan thanks to Daniel Levy – pundit

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte can forget about the six players he reportedly wants to sign this summer.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ summer plans.

On 20 April, The Telegraph reported Conte wants as many as six new signings this summer.

It was claimed the Italian is looking to add a centre-back, a right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward and a reserve goalkeeper.

McAvennie insists this will not happen and claimed Daniel Levy will only sanction two transfers at most.

“Six transfers? No chance, Conte can forget that,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Not with Daniel Levy there. It says a lot about that squad if he wants six players to come in.

“Players will have to leave if that’s the case and I can’t see anyone lining up to buy the ones they will want to let go.

“I can’t see six coming in, Tottenham don’t do that. It will be more like one or two.

“The defence needs some new faces. I have been beating that drum for years.

“The midfield is alright actually, I think they could get away without buying a new midfielder.

“Do they need new attackers? Kane and Son are so, so good. I don’t think they need anything more up there.”

Tottenham currently occupy fourth position in the Premier League.

They are next in action against Brentford on Saturday (23 April).

In other news, Tottenham are plotting a move for Aston Villa starlet Travis Patterson.
