
Ao Tanaka sends message as Leeds surge five points clear of Sheffield United
Ao Tanaka has sent Leeds United supporters a message following their dominant victory against Watford on Tuesday (11 February).
The Whites ran riot at Vicarage Road to secure another important three points as a brace from Daniel James and goals by Manor Solomon and Joel Piroe wrapped up the result.
The victory kept Daniel Farke’s team at the top of the Championship table as they extended the gap over Sheffield United to five points.
The Yorkshire giants have been dominant this season as the club aims to get back to the Premier League, having only lost three games so far in the Championship.
Farke’s side boast the best-attacking record in the division with 66 goals in 32 matches, while only Burnley have conceded fewer than their 19 goals this season.
Leeds will be back in action on Monday (17 February) when they play Sunderland in their next Championship outing.

Tanaka celebrated the victory by taking to Instagram as he posted a message to the Leeds supporters.
The 26-year-old said, “Good night in London. #MOT” as he looks to continue his own impressive season.

Tanaka was accurate with 74 percent of his passes, winning five of his duels, and made four recoveries throughout the fixture.
Ao Tanaka has become an influential figure at Elland Road
The Japan international has proven to be a key figure under Farke this season, having played in 29 Championship fixtures.
The midfielder has scored two goals and provided two assists in the league this season.
Tanaka is currently under contract at Elland Road until 2028.
